Turkey showed us the way to deal with Russia a few years back: Russia incurred into Turkish airspace, testing the waters, Turkey shot it down without flinching… Russia hasn’t tested Turkey since.

What NATO is doing is actually the best response – no response at all. Russia are pushing and pushing to see what happens, and if nothing happens they will eventually stop and try something different. NATO’s strength here is to ignore
