      We can’t continue to bow down to the pressure from Trump. We have free speech. We have freedom of the press. We are allowed to have our own opinions. Don’t let him take this away from us.

      Was the Roseanne story ever fully reported out? Like clearly she posted something terrible, but my sense was always that she was fired so quickly because people were sick of dealing with her crap constantly. I’ve wondered if that was complaints from dealing with her on set or was the network sick of dealing with her.

      For a quarter, tops. I’d love it if all of America stepped back and said we’re wasting too much money on all these platforms and devices to play them on. We’re going back to walks and cards with friends. But by the time the nights are long and cold, folks at gonna want their Disney fix. Because… we’re Americans!

      Of course he isnt. Gina and Roseanne werent fired because the sitting president asked his fcc chair to threaten the entire network with revoking their license if they didnt fire them. Thats the absolutely critical part of this entire thing, something the maga types cant seem to understand.

      And before someone tries to argue ratings or whatever, the FCC chair and trump both issued statements directly after it happened that they had knowledge/encouraged the firing, and even openly stated they were about to do it again.

      If your network fires you because it just wants to, thats ok. If your network fires you because you made a crappy show thats ok. If your network fires you because your personal life has made it difficult to work with you thats ok. If your network fires you because you have done something that is driving away droves of customers thats ok.

      All of those things are free market choices. The actual free market.

      Whats not ok is the government directly contacting the people in charge and threatening to revoke the company’s ability to exist at all, because one person in the entire company made a comment that they consider “mean”. And then the company being forced to fire them. Immediately followed by the government gloating about it and warning “we arent done yet” showing theyll continue to tell companies who and what they can talk about.

      If you cant tell the difference then it shows that you have never bothered to understand the consitution.

      Can you imagine trying to get the beloved inclusive character Rosanne out of the person Rosanne has become.

      Roseanne has admitted mental health issues. There’s nothing wrong with that and those types of mental health issues lean towards right wing conspiracy when you are having an episode. The problem is Roseanne is relatively intelligent and surrounded by yes men, so rather than admit that she had an episode, she justifies her feelings that she had during those episodes Making her less and less the Roseanne that we remember.

      So buying into Pizza Gate during an episode gets turned into a semi rational argument against Democrats. Totally ignoring the irrational path that got her to that opinion.

      It’s not the same as Kelsey Grammar being a republican.
