I would imagine that if he was just sick with the flu, they’d set it up so that he could appear via video or even read his lines via video. I’ve suspected that his cancer battle was getting worse since this reunion was announced and the fact that he’s not participating at all makes me even more nervous.

He’s having cancer treatment so his immune system is going to be terrible right now.
Flu, or anything viral, is really going to zap his energy and take its toll. I’m sure he’s being looked after, but it makes complete sense that he’s missing this.
I’m not sure why people think he’d even be well enough for a video link. The guy is very ill.
