The irony that her defence lawyer was not someone she would like to engage with of her own free will is the funniest part of this to me.
I imagine a lot of people on this sub would consider this woman a hero.
People will say these protests are mostly attended by concerned locals but we all know far right groups are attending them, even when they are miles away from their own towns, with the explicit intent of intimidating immigrants and advocating for violence against them. Thre is nothing wrong with being concerned about immigration but the right really needs to come to terms with the fact that there is far too much racist language being used by their side and that not confronting that does not do their side any favours.
Dangerous nutter, but I’m not sure what you actually do with her when she didn’t have the opportunity to do the crazy thing she was apparently intending to do.
Is the suspended sentence the right call? It probably is, that’s now hanging over her and should dissuade her from doing something similar in the future.
