What’s Russia trying to gain?
It’s going to happen more and more often until something it’s done, so buckle up, folks.
Seems like Putin is asking for these aircraft to be engaged and shot down, giving him a good excuse to expand his war in Ukraine into Western Europe.
His presidency is dependant on being at war, so opening up a new front whilst being able to blame the West for it’s aggressive actions (as perceived by the gas-lit Russian public) seems like a good idea for his continued survival.
With Trump in his pocket, it’ll be up to Europe to make this decision.

Sounds like they need some sort of active sorties defense net, with a shoot on sight basis type plan going on. All of these accidental incursions are no accident.
