      TLDR:

      * One [*Jimmy Kimmel Live!*](https://people.com/is-jimmy-kimmel-live-canceled-what-to-know-11812546) staffer is opening up about the late-night show being in limbo, and revealed that ABC’s decision came „shortly before showtime“ on Sept. 17, after they had spent hours preparing for the taping.
      * „It was very quick and very shocking. It was a big shock to everybody,“ the unidentified employee tells PEOPLE exclusively on Friday, just two days after ABC made the decision to „indefinitely“ pull Jimmy Kimmel’s show off the air after the host’s recent remarks about Charlie Kirk. „We don’t know anything. We’re all on standby.“
      * „Jimmy and the producers have had to keep this close to the vest,“ the staffer continues, adding that „there’s been nothing“ by way of communication from the network since ABC placed the show on hiatus. „We’re just hoping that we’re gonna hear something soon and hopefully it’s good.“

      Oh it’s over. Done. Fin.

There is no universe where they let Jimmy back on without a public apology, and I seriously doubt he sullies himself for another one or two seasons because that’s all he’d get anyway, and he knows it.

The best move for Jimmy now is to go independent. I don’t watch late night TV, but I’d for sure watch his streams and/or entire shows the next day.

Basically, the leverage is with Jimmy now. He doesn’t need them, but they’ll lose viewers because of this.

He’s gained at least one viewer here, and I suspect I’m not alone.

My guess is they’re scrambling to find a way to fix this without looking like the people who broke it. Thing is, Kimmel has a contract and they have to keep on paying him. The loss of revenue from Disney+ subscribers, the loss of revenue from cancelled cruises, it’s really starting to compound.

Good! Jimmy needs to take this and fight. Would love to see him cancel Trump in return!

Hell he should sue Disney too!

    5. The show is definitely over. Kimmel will be in court for years. Confirmation will also be realized once more shows are canceled.

Jimmy needs to take the contract payout alongside his staff then cut ties with everyone who failed him and his crew. Disney proved they do not shield their entertainers from the bottom level (horror stories about Disney World/Land employees suffering) all the way up to the highest level of Jimmy Kimmel. Complete failure.

Disney and all these companies getting hit financially by being Trump’s footstool need to show some balls and public faith and hit back. Just a great deal of cowardice all around.

Publicly traded companies should enjoy no benefits of private ownership.

„Jimmy should just leave and go to YouTube.“

I’m sorry, but people saying the above are being stupid and naive. I support Kimmel and don’t think his show should have been taken off the air, but I’m not going to start watching him just because he has a show somewhere else. I don’t enjoy his show. Never have. I’m only supporting him because of the free speech implications, but I’m not going to just follow him somewhere else. I want him to get his show back, but that’s about it tbh.
