    1. He has the opportunity to do the funniest thing in his entire career.

Make them think he’s willing to submit to their demands to get back on the air and then just go full scorched Earth George Carlin style until they yank him off mid-show.

If they make him do a donation to some Charlie Kirk foundation, call up the bank live on-air and initiate a chargeback saying it was made under duress.

Surely by now he’s got the “Fuck You” money to not need the show anymore if it’s gonna need to be a state sanctioned script but he could sure make one hell of a statement on his way out.

    2. Nah! Disney, Nexstar, Sinclair, Fox News, and Paramount (for Colbert) need to feel some pain! Call your streaming services with companies, then call your TV provider and demand they remove their stations from their service, or else you will cancel your TV plan!

I’m of two minds about this. Obviously, you can’t negotiate with terrorists (the terrorists being the FCC and the federal government in this scenario, just so we’re clear about where I’m coming from).

At the same time, a lot of people’s jobs are on the line. From the guy who was involved in Strike Force Five, I believe Kimmel will want to do everything he can to help his people.

I hope they offer him a deal to come back. And I hope he tells them to go fuck themselves.

Is it okay to say the response to this vs Colbert is weird to me? The Colbert situation seems worse but there’s much more heat for Kimmel.

    6. This is all I need to know

“It’s understood that ABC and Disney brass had been flagging concerns to Kimmel for some time about the sharpness of his critiques of President Donald Trump and his unprecedented takeover of federal agencies. “

    7. There is no compromise.

Disney is a screw up and they did wrong. Kimmel has nothing to apologize for and doesn’t need to do anything to get back in the air.

Disney needs to accept some accountability and make things right then move forward. That’s the only way.

Have people seen the things Trump said from the oval office today?

      It’s over, he is done.

    9. I read hes sueing.. His contract says he can’t be fired for what he says politically. I hope it’s true!

That’s funny because today I saw them loading out all of his stage set into trucks so maybe they’ll go to Brooklyn and do the show there?

    11. What compromise? He didn’t say anything wrong and to bring him back with stipulations is still censorship

    12. The only acceptable compromise is to admit you’re wrong and bring the show back on the air AS-IS, with Disney executives doing a cold open apologizing to America for their cowardliness.

      Anything less is unacceptable.

Already cancelled Disney and Hulu. Not going back. Ever. Not even for free.

    14. I’ll be honest, I’m not watching Kimmel every night. I would never have even heard the monologue if they hadn’t gotten so bent out of shape over it. It was a harmless jab. I expect next time he’ll go much harder.

Disney has shown they’d bend over to fascism. They can get fucked. Cancelled my subscription.

Unconditional reinstatement, public apology by ABC to Jimmy and to America, and statement of support, or the cancellation continues. These are the terms. They are nonnegotiable.

    17. I knew they would back down as soon as everyone started cancelling. I dropped my Hulu with TV membership and even if they reinstate the show I’m not renewing. Fuck em.

    18. Why would jimmy even bother coming back at this point? He has absolutely no reason to believe that his bosses will go to bat for him or back him up.

    19. Antique_Truth_8473 on

Kimmel, do NOT apologize! And do NOT pay a fucking dime to them! This will be a defining point in free speech!

You mean capitulate. Sinclair said they want an apology and want Jimmy to put money in Kirk’s tpusa fund. No way!!
