Says it all. The ambit of free speech which is genuinely tolerated in the west is collapsing precipitously, with nary a peep from the so called liberal order.

I don’t really care. They aren’t citizens. They don’t have an inherent right to enter.
Hell I wish they were tougher on the border.
I can’t call for the death of politicians and expect to be welcome in civil society. Good riddance to bad actors.
This is Canada, where our freedom of speech has always been bound by reasonable restrictions. We are not American free speech absolutists. And that is a very, very good thing.
Like we’re so fond of saying when right-wing nut jobs make threats against their fellow citizens: freedom of speech does not mean freedom of consequences.

I feel like this whole controversy would have been incredibly easy to avoid if they just stuck to criticizing Israel, defending Palestine’s right to exist/the Gazan people and didn’t directly voice support for Hamas or Hezbollah and making death threats against British MPs etc.
Whether you think they’re in the right/wrong or not, it’s hard to argue that this isn’t a problem of their own making and that it’s not that hard to vocally defend the Palestinian people from a geocide/potential mass exodus in Gaza without supporting terror groups that have an abundance of atrocities human rights abuses to speak for themselves.
