An diesem Tag im Jahr 1870 begann die deutsche Armee die Belagerung von Paris während des französisch-preußischen Krieges. Es dauerte bis Januar 1871 und war entscheidend, die Franzosen dazu zu zwingen, das neu gebildete deutsche Reich als dominantes Land auf dem europäischen Kontinent zu ergeben.

As I also live to give some facto:) The siege led to a Revolution called Paris Paris Commune which was abel to govern the City for a couple of month. It is seen as the first Wirkung class Revolution and develeoped some ideas like a council republic. The Revolution heavily influenced marx and Engels.
And the person who played a big role in Germans victory against France was a certain Otto von Bismarck.
Under his regime (He was the first Chancellor of the German Empire), you could say, that the German Empire was at it’s peak of influence and prosperity. He is the reason Germany exists today.
