Alberta spielt eine populistische Karte auf Citizen IDS

Let’s stop calling things that rely on playing to popular prejudice as populism and start calling it by its proper name: demagoguery. Stuff like this serves no purpose other than to placate the prejudice of a particular sect of the right-wing, which is far more pervasive in Alberta. Although I’d argue this is a fairly mild form of demagoguery, the anti-trans and book bans being far more significant, it should be noted that this isn’t populism and is just straight up demagoguery justified through sophistry.

Well duh.
When’s the last time Alberta’s government wasn’t playing the populist card? It’s been years since I’ve heard something coming from them that was actually making economic sense or that was acknowledging the reality of the province in the 21st century.

FYI, don’t forget that Canada has NEVER been a culturally and ethnically homogenous country.
