Liebe Leser,
Heute bin ich auf ein Porträt von General Henri Guisan gestoßen, das mich sowohl für seine Komposition als auch für seine historische Resonanz traf. Erst danach habe ich bemerkt, dass die Arbeit von 1944 stammt. Ich bin gespannt, ob es sich um einen Druck oder ein Ölgemälde handelt, und wäre dankbar, wenn jemand weitere Einblicke in seine Herkunft oder Kontext teilen könnte.

I guess it’s a print. The national museum refers this very picture to 1939.

It has this painting and states it’s from 1939. General Guisan was and still is a highly popular figure and therefore pictures of him have been heavily reproduced.
