      Endgame.

      Recall that the Trump admin is murdering Venezuelans on boats under the pretense that they are terrorists, and thus don’t need to worry about things like justice or oversight.

      ETA: I am now utterly convinced that CK’s assassination was a false flag / inside job in order to accelerate this phase of the fascist agenda. Trump, Vance et al. were stoking the furnace before his body even hit the ground.

      It’s more nebulous and meaningless of an organizational term than anonymous; so I’m guessing it’s anyone/anything they want it to be.

      Now protests are going to be labeled “antifa funded” with protesters rounded up and arrested for exercising their first amendment rights. I’m so overwhelmed all the time now, I don’t even know how to emotionally process what I’m feeling half the time.

      Since there is no actual organization called antifa, this will just be used to label anyone who dares to dissent against the regime as „antifa“ and disappear them using Patriot Act anti-terrorism authority.

      Antifa isn’t even an organization… it’s at best a bunch of splinter groups using the name. Anyone who opposes Fascism could be considered Anti-Fa(scism)… which is exactly who Trump plans to go after. Anyone who disagrees with him is now designated Antifa… freedom of speech is officially dead in America. 😔

      The million dollar question is whether Trump has the ability to “designate a domestic terrorist organization.” There was a congressional resolution in 2019 to do something similar but it went nowhere. There’s a statute allowing the Secretary of State to designate foreign terrorist organizations, not Trump. But there doesn’t appear to be anything similar for supposed domestic terrorists.

      Don’t let bad actors convince you that protesting and organizing is futile and dangerous. Inaction helps those in power stay in power. The people outnumber the fascists by a lot. Find local groups, build community with the people around you, ignore the people trying to convince you to do nothing.

      So, Antifa is now a terrorist organization. Does this mean WWII history will no longer be taught in school since America and all its allies were Antifa? Will museums be ordered to remove all displays of WWII content? Will terrorist designations be placed on the headstones for all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in WWII?

      The president doesn’t have the authority to designate domestic groups as terrorists.  They can only do that for foreign groups.

      In order for it to be a terrorist organization, it needs to be an organization first.
