Disney’s ABC said it would take Jimmy Kimmel‘s popular late-night show off its schedule “indefinitely” after one of the biggest owners of TV stations in the U.S., Nexstar Media, said it would pre-empt airings of the program following remarks the host made about the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Nexstar said Wednesday that its “owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will preempt “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” for the foreseeable future, beginning with tonight’s show.” The company said it “strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

I just looked up what he said. I was expecting some wild inflammatory shit. He barely said anything at all. That’s a crazy thing to get a whole show shutdown over.

Been watching since the show was airing in full-screen aspect ratio and Uncle Frank was always alongside Guillermo. Shame this is how the show might end.

The quote from FCC Chairman Carr is *disturbing.* After saying Kimmel was pushing a „lie“ to the American people about the Kirk shooter being MAGA, he said:

And what people don’t understand is that the broadcasters, and you’ve gotten this right, are entirely different than people that use other forms of communication. They have a license granted by us at the FCC, and that comes with it an obligation to operate in the public interest.“

He just openly admitted that speaking in contradiction to the Trump regime is „against the public interest“ and can result in broadcast licenses being taken away. We’re a hop and a skip away from State Media.
