There’s the first sign of the underlying racism of Alberta’s UCP.
What’s the criteria going to be, exactly, for approval? Having the means to gainfully support yourself? Having a family? Young children? University education?
No…we know what it will be without you saying it.
Is this to restrict ‚certain‘ people, or to do an end-run around the reduced student and TFW numbers mandated at the federal level?
Smith is advocating for more temp residents at the same time as a near supermajority of Canadians favour even more reductions, after all. With PP, Eby and others calling for scrapping the TFW and Carney promising various ‚tweaks‘ to better align it with Canadians‘ views and economic interests, I suspect it’s the latter versus nefarious discriminatory intent.
