Eines der Dinge, die ich an Helsinkis öffentlichem Verkehrssystem geliebt habe, ist die U -Bahn. Viele Stationen, insbesondere auf dem Länsimetro (Stationen westlich von Ruoholahti, die in den letzten 5 bis 10 Jahren eröffnet wurden), schienen sehr nett und modern zu sein. Aber der ursprüngliche Untergrundabschnitt hat auch großartige Stationen – und meine Lieblings -U -Bahn -Station in Helsinki ist ohne Zweifel Kamppi (die Station, in der die Fotos dieses Beitrags aufgenommen wurden). Eine wunderschöne Station mit exponiertem, geschnitzten Felsen, der mich glücklich erinnert, auf großartige Weise an die wundervolle blaue Linienstationen von Stockholm!

Not many people know that Kamppi was built as an interchange station – there is an another platform below the currently used one, crossing at right angle. The other line was just never constructed so it’s just an empty platform with tunnel stubs.
Still, would be interesting to see that platform as well. For obvious reasons it’s not open to public.
Probably Koivusaari, since I was part of the structural designer team. Also Keilaniemi.
Nittykumpu’s metro station is also really beautiful! I love Lauttasaari too.

Munkkivuori. It is repurposed, but I like the coziness of it. While ridong the escalator I can almost hear the sound of a subway accelerating.
Out of the ones in Helsinki I like the Kamppi station most. It’s bright and it has art that breaks the flow.
Out of all the stations my favorite is either Tapiola or Kivenlahti. Kivenlahti has cool ceiling art and Tapiola for the ceiling panels and the statue.
