Heh, a high ranking politician so down to earth he does his own grocery shopping at an ordinary supermarket. Rare to find that, closest I can think of is Austria’s van der Bellen who is famous for taking the subway to work instead of getting driven by a protection detail.

Why was he on vacation in a Romanian supermarket? That sounds boring.

Same bodyguard style as on that rock concert – the purse on the chest level 🙂

Happy country, if your president can get a vacation during the quasi-war in Europe, and especially getting lost among public. Unharmful zero responsibility, zero accountability. Who care what he did, or what he can do in future.

I like that he saves half a lei on the bag.

The photo wasn’t taken by a random tourist. The author is a motorcycle journalist who accompanied him on his Romania motorcycle trip. (Pavel is a huge motorcycle nerd)
I have been Penny Market before, wouldn’t recommend going there for a vacation.

The bodyguards are incredibly inconspicuous in those white shirts, blue shorts and fanny packs. I wonder where they keep the pistols in their summer attire.

Refreshing to see a president blending in like any regular person. Pavel really gives off humble and down-to-earth vibes
