      It’s weird that the news hasn’t been screaming about the mess in Memphis when it’s so bad the president has to step in and send troops.

      So, I’m not convinced with any confidence that crime has been reduced in DC because of the willingness of Trump admin to cook the books in other areas of the nation. The only accurate number I think that’s difficult to fudge is number of murders.

      Since the military can’t actually police, and they don’t seem to care about increasing police funding, the only purpose they serve is to terrify citizens.

      Sure, there’s been murders and death threats and general unrest in Utah so the logical thing to do is to send the troops to the other fucking end of the country.

      Make no mistake. Trump *wants* unrest in these cities, so he’s trying to manufacture it. He wants residents to lash out at the troops he’s sending so he can call it an insurrection and invoke martial law. This is all part of his 2026 „can’t let a real election happen“ plan.

      Yes the President can kill people without congressional authorization or a trial

      Yes every President has been doing this for the last 50-70 years just these where brown people living abroad now that the President is doing it in USA soil everyone is shocked

      Are we all going to allow this to slowly unravel despite knowing there are more members of the working class than there are paper tiger fascist rulers?

      He will clap the whole time. Both GOP Senators hates Memphis.

      He cowered out of Chicago. Memphis hasn’t showed much resistance and probably figures the guard will spend money there and boost their economy

      Trump can send Federal law enforcement on this false pretext but a Memorandum is not legal grounds for activating the Guard. So is it Trump or Gov. Lee activating TN National Guard?

      Just gonna put this out there… Memphis IS a shithole but mostly due to a lot of racist policy… but I also think the people there will give them a run for their money. Like when they put surveillance all over Camden, NJ and they just worked together and avoided it lol.

      Oh and also the air there is pretty toxic due to Musk’s AI facility there.

      This is going to be a disaster in Tennessee as well. Memphis might be a tiny blue dot in a sea of red, but it’s a big economic engine. The state doesn’t have enough money to have that tax base get whacked by 30 percent. Those troops will suppress the economy for sure.

      He is absolutely doing this to provoke Memphians, Thing is though they’re not stupid, they have been through this kind of BS before and can absolutely run circles around the national guard without even needing to lay a finger on them if need be. Honestly As long as you treat people with respect and avoid shady areas in Memphis you’ll be ok from my experience, Being a decent human being to people goes a long way there.
