Where is the comment from the boys lawer also? Generally you will at least see their representation making statements immediately, even ifs its just to say „He claims he is innocent no further comment“

I have absolutely no proof to back this up…but my gut feeling is that he wasn’t shot with a .30-06. I don’t know why I feel that way, but I thought it the day of and I still think that.
