This’ll be my first provincial election I’m getting the chance to vote in since moving to NL, pretty excited for this one. Have only ever voted NDP provincially previously (in BC), currently undecided here
Interesting how they have no 4th party of any kind in Newfoundland I wonder if the win of the fed liberals back in April will rub off on the NL libs
Hogan’s popularity is way up so I am expecting another Liberal landslide. I expect the PCs to tumble further and the NDP to make more gains. But because of how strong the Liberals will be in most seats; I don’t see the NDP winning more than 3 seats even if they get 15% of the vote.
I wonder if we’ll get any polling data at all. The only company that usually polls the Atlantic provinces has stopped sharing the data. It’s an election so maybe somebody will do something at the start or end.
Probably a small Liberal majority.
Regional splits will be interesting – I wonder if what we’ve seen on the federal level will translate here too. As with the federal equivalent (Liberals only saw one MP running for reelection this time around), lots of veteran MLAs aren’t returning so PCs could pick up some.
But then, Hogan seems to be popular enough, especially with his wildfire response, and Wakeham’s not the most…impactful figure, let’s just say. I like Dinn but sadly, not enough traction for NLNDP beyond 3-4 seats.
