If you just paid 40k tuition for your medical / dentistry degree in Dublin another 14k for accommodation in a nice part of town probably doesn’t seem to much of a stretch.

For someone from an average family, its a case of the world is getting wealthier, but more unequal, and you ain’t at the party.

It’s smack bang in city centre where the historic nature of the city and the character of the neighbourhood and whatever else means you can’t build higher than like 4 floors. Obviously given how desirable that part of Dublin is and how little units are available it’s going to be extortionate 

If you don’t build more in historic areas, only people who are rich, or people who are well connected get to live there.
