    1. Politics is ruining this country in unfathomable ways. Besides political beliefs, both parties need to start calling out the maga rhetoric. More republicans need to advocate against trump.

    2. gunslinger_006 on

Well agreeing with Portnoy wasnt on my 2025 bingo card, but here we are.

    3. Misleading headline. No one worry – you don’t actually have to agree with Portnoy

„His assassination attempt, there’s like a three-hour period of, ‘Oh, let’s tone down the rhetoric,’ and then we are right back to it.”

      He’s right.

Trump is trying to do a January 6 against the left. He’s riling up the nut jobs to attack us, it’s as clear as day. Trump wants a civil war and the cult will oblige.

    5. Federal_Drummer7105 on

Members of the Kirk gang got owned by the members of the Fuentes gang. They’re now targeting each other for assassination to show their superiority to each other.

When will the MAGA on MAGA violence end- while our president ignores it and blames it on “the left” while his followers kill each other in their name? I think he should more directly involved and start telling each group just who they should be targeting among these rival gangs so they at least know who has their favor.

      * Edit: Awwww, I got someone to report me to RedditCares! And I agree – I have been under a lot of tension worrying that the MAGA on MAGA violence we are now seeing erupting between the people who think Trump should be even **more** racist, while the other groups think Trump should release the Epstein files to „own the libs“. It’s sad to see good young white boys who didn’t have good father figures now taking to shooting each other’s leaders, and I denounce that violence and hope they can resist their cultural and genetic compulsions that drive them to want to kill each other.

    6. Who?

Can we stop telling me who said what or verbally scortched whoever? Please.

Just tell me what politicians are voting for, what communities are changing structurally, and where politicians, business people, and such go and who they talk to what they are planning.

Stop with the celebrity coverage of news. Please.

Clickbait headline. It’s just mealy-mouthed bullshit. He hedged so much that he ended up saying nothing at all.

    8. First-Mix-3548 on

Yeah. But lets be honest, Charlie was playing with fire, and should not have been surprised in the least.

    9. MAGA will defend Trump to the grave, even as his own people acknowledge the destructiveness of his role.

    10. thistimelineisweird on

I have said in the past I wouldn’t be surprised if the pedo shit is causing a schism in the Republican Party and that some, if not all, right on right violence is going to stem from the assumed fact that Trump raped children.

Now, I know there are a few connections there that still need proven, but if it were to be true then yes, Trump raping children caused it.

And people like Dave Portnoy ruin this country in similar ways, too. Dave loves being on the side of an issue that gets him more attention and engagement, he’s no different than Trump and Charlie. He peddles division and friction to make himself richer. I’d say he should stick to sports, but the bozo struggles with sports, too.

    12. TheGOPisTheDeepState on

Sane-washing Trump and the GOP rhetoric and violence because state media is owned by billionaires that profit off of it. Media is cooked in the states.

    13. AdHopeful3801 on

Portnoy says Trump supporters are prone to violence, Trump supporters prove him right?

    14. theeulessbusta on

To be fair, Trump and Kirk both stirred the pot of shit and their follows are now shocked that they got a bit of shit on them.

    15. Let’s not get distracted either.

Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein Epstein

    16. Mind_Killer on

MAGA’s so fucking stupid they don’t even understand what Portnoy was trying to say. He wasn’t saying Trump played a direct part in the shooting but rather Trump’s existence makes people so angry that they lash out, including in this way.

Portnoy is an asshole that loves Trump and defended Charlie Kirk. This is just another example of the Right eating itself from the inside out.

    17. Lordrandall on

Clickbait headline, and usual blaming of the Left/Liberals in the actual quote.

    18. Moist_Copy8483 on

I believe there’s more to the bigger picture than anyone will ever know

    19. dogchasecat on

The first thing I thought was that Kirk would likely still be alive if Trump weren’t president. So, Trump indirectly killed Kirk.

    20. TacoCatSupreme1 on

Talking about Kirk is the distraction from the Epstien files that Trump wants so badly to get away from

    21. The actual full context of what he says is a lot less shocking from him, and boils down to the bare-minimum sentiment. Basically everyone- including Trump – is overly divisive & it leads to this tension. He even made a point of saying he didn’t blame Trump specifically for anything & that in his view, the left is way more radical.

I guess it’s nice that someone in that echo-chamber is daring to say something other than “Trump is perfect and literally everything is the left’s fault,” but his message is barely a step away from that & shouldn’t be seen as anything to celebrate him for.

    22. Gee, what a shock, MAGA goes crazy because they are unable to recognize the importance of context, and really understand what is being said. This is a huge part of the problem with these people, trying to get through to them. They have an attention span of a gnat. And a brain of a gnat.

    23. MAGA is raging because they thrive on victim mentality. They don’t give a shit about law, justice, morality, or righteousness – they are just big crybabies who are stomping mad that they can’t make all the rules and proclaim themselves the winners in every game – and that’s what makes them exploit the death of their own to try to intimidate everybody else into shutting up.

    24. Skate_faced on

Portnoy making some sense and being pretty right in saying shit about Trump… didn’t see this coming.

Guy is still a dick and something something clock, but this is one is a little odd is all.

    25. You can certainly say that the political rhetoric is too extreme right now… But 90% of it is coming from the Right and the sitting US president. They don’t call it the Bully Pulpit for nothing.

That said, Kirk was a toxic threat to the US. I would never have called for his death nor condone his shooting. But the world is a better place with him gone.

    26. porktorque44 on

      > it appears that Portnoy was not saying that it was Trump’s fault that Kirk got shot but instead trying to say that **the divisiveness of his existence** may have played a part in that.

It’s almost funny that this is pretty much exactly what he said. He got dangerously close to saying Trump is responsible for his own behavior and had to stop short and act like Trump being alive is what upsets people and not the horrible things he constantly says and does.

    27. Creative_Impulse on

Yeah, it’s just how it is. The dude isn’t great, but even the Right would prefer not to shoot at EACH OTHER.

    28. WaterWeedDuneHair69 on

Btw this article says the left is the one that tones down the rhetoric. Not the right

    29. PrefersEarlGrey on

I mean yeah, at some point MAGA has to look inward and ask themselves why MAGA keeps shooting MAGA time and time again.

MAGA even tried to shoot trump last year, the right has a violence problem.

    30. We are rapidly approaching an inflection point in history. I see more conservatives waking up to the idea that things are not okay, but the others are getting more and more extreme. We could see the death of MAGA or of America itself.

    31. >Which, by the way, a lot of people agree with what he says, and he says those things and lets people disagree with him like you were saying. Come up and debate him.

„I just said something deplorable, but it’s ok because you can debate me if you want!“

    32. Right wingers trying to cancel Portnoy?? Boy we’re really in bizarro world at this point

    33. He’s not wrong. Trump normalized political violence when he not only initiated January 6th 2021’s failed insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, but he also pardoned those very same criminals (including violent actual domestic terrorists convicted of seditious conspiracy) and promoted them as „true patriots.“

If that doesnt normalize or promote political violence then nothing does.
