„Vote Blue, our rich donors select who.“ -Corpodems motto.
This isn’t about voting though, is it? There’s a difference between voting and endorsing. When words are meaningless you can make all kinds of bad faith arguments.
As a moderate, I’ve got zero issues with Mamdani.
Saying that. He doesn’t have a record of doing anything. He’s done some talking, he’s made some promises, but he hasn’t done anything as of yet.
Let him grow.
He wants the position of Mayor. Sure. He absolutely cannot be worse than the last several guys.
But don’t put him on a pedestal. He’s not ready.
He won the primary. Back him. End of story or you risk the end of party.
Mamdani is finally exposing the unspoken rift that was there all along: Fake Democrats whose only constituents are the rich and powerful, and real Democrats whose constituents are The People.
When did Dems ever rally behind the Dem nominee?
That has historically been the exact reason Dems lose. Purity tests.
Corporate Democrats always get antsy when the people decide to challenge their power.
Polls have him winning handedly. We’ll see at election time. Do you want everyone to wear MAZA hats or whatever?
Corporate dems fucking suck.
The answer is AIPAC.
No one is trying to blunt his momentum or anything. From what I can tell, he’s very likely to win the election and a number of Dems have even outright endorsed him. I think some of the caution is because other Dems in leadership roles have to think about how to win all across the country and worry that while he’s crushing it in NYC, progressive politics might not be the winning move in some more moderate electorates elsewhere. If Schumer and Jeffries were trying to sandbag Mamdani somehow I’d disagree with that, but the most they’re doing is trying to appear neutral in a race he’s winning anyway in order to show moderate voters elsewhere that the main party isn’t going further left.
Those the same supporters that stayed home and got us Trump last national election?
I don’t know any democrats planning to vote against him. What’s with this victimhood mentality? He’s favored to win because more democrats will be voting for him.
„What happened to „Vote Blue not matter who“?
We haven’t had the election yet.
I love that people think this is some kind of gotcha when in reality Mamdani was part of the uncommitted movement and never campaigned for or endorsed Harris.
These people spent the entire election cycle trying to get Trump elected and now they’re pretending we owe them anything.
They’re all gonna endorse him. And democrats are gonna vote for him. Thats why he’s leading the polls.
Bernie voters live for making excuses for their bad behavior in 2024 and 2016.
The same people wondering are the ones who didn’t vote for Harris.
Stop pretending otherwise.
I would vote for anyone who has a chance over your flavor of antisemite.
They should support Mamdani because the alternative is a corrupt Trumper. But did Mamdani support Harris or Biden in 2024 election?
New York Democrats should be backing this guy, but I think his election is local enough that I don’t blame anyone outside the state for not sticking their nose in it. It probably won’t help someone like Josh Shapiro, for example, to give an endorsement. Nor will it help Mamdani to have it.
Isn’t Mamdani projected to win in a landslide? Is this fake outrage or can someone point me to some polling that suggests the headline is actually occurring outside of the standard deviation.
Seems to be a suspiciously growing number of posts about this single topic–why won’t Dems in charge back Mamdani? I’ve been a Dem long enough to know that members of the Democratic party don’t hold their nose while voting blue no matter who. That’s the *other* political party. We already learned Dems stay home if they aren’t a fan of the Dem running. I mean, let’s face it, that’s one reason Harrison didn’t get enough votes.
I can’t actually vote in that race.
If I could, I would certainly vote for Mamdani, even though I’m a capitalist Zionist who hasn’t read descriptions of his views very carefully, because he has strongly opposed Trump and Cuomo and Adams have not.
I don’t understand voters who are considering any other issue at this time. The only issue that matters is how strongly a candidate will oppose Trump.
If Mamdani proposes a stupid policy: I’ll bet the city council can stop that.
If he’s unfair toward Israel: Speaking as a Zionist, I think the best way for Israel to end unfairness toward Israel is to stop killing reporters, make sure Palestinians in Gaza can stay in Gaza and make sure the Palestinians in Gaza have a good quality of life. That would have a much bigger impact on Israel’s security than the views of a mayor of New York.
Speaking as a human: How can any decent candidate play footsie with someone who’s putting immigrants with minor paperwork problems in concentration camps with no oversight, and who sends the Gestapo in to attack Hyundai plants full of skilled professionals who are trying to help Americans make cars?
The same people whining about this are the same people who mocked the very idea of „vote blue no matter who“ when Kamala Harris was running.
The Internet Leftist hypocrisy is as plain as day, as it usually is.
I thought far lefties fucking hated vbnmw
I’m so sick of reading this exact same story. He’s going to win in a walk.
Hes up 20-30 points hes a dem running in NYC hes gonna cruise to victory running
I’m sorry, this is rage bait? I have only seen positive news about him, like, ever. Obviously not right leaning lol.
Guys, the general hasn’t even happened yet. Why are you all acting like you already lost?
Vote blue no matter who absolutely includes Mamdani.
Gutless fucks can’t read the writing on the wall. Time to turn the page and vote out the geriatric neolibs.
Yep I heard a lot of calls for lefties to shut up and vote for Biden/Harris despite their complicity in genocide because they’re better than Trump, and I agree, but now the shoe is on the other foot and the establishment need to put their money where their mouth is or risk losing the left base.
Here’s the reality: we’re a two-party country where the two parties are far right and center-right. Politicians like Mamdani represent a position further left than what the Democrats will support. So when they say “vote blue no matter who,” they’re not talking about people like Mamdani.
This 6 week old article seems violates the sub-rules and seems especially specific to target the [Hochul’s endorsement of Mamdani.](https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/14/politics/kathy-hochul-zohran-mamdani)
Mamdani should just totally break away from Democrats, to form his own National Politicial Party. Democrats are done, no one trusts them.
It’s because he doesn’t bend the knee for Israel and the party elite does.
