    1. Only 23 million in the UK? That can’t be right. Am I missing something?

Why does the UK cell say 23 million when it’s something like 67 million?

The cell does seem to be about the right size though.

    3. You forgot China … 1.4Billion x 10-20% will be a number close to USA 😂

      Minor mistake

    4. It would be more meaningful to see each country’s total population. Seeing just the number with nothing to compare doesn’t mean anything. It’s not even beautiful. It’s arbitrary.

Canada has 30,480,750 English speakers out of what?

Did you by chance accidentally repeat australia’s english speaking population for the uk? because they are really similar in total number.

Egypt: 44M. Vietnam: 45M. Did you really find numbers that more than half of adults in those countries speak English? I find that a bit absurd.

    7. I find it quite hard to believe that over 10% of the US population would say that they straight-up don’t speak English.

If you have ever been in Vietnam you’d know that there is no way that almost half of the population speak english. This is not even true in the major cities.

    9. Would be cool if the world map was coloured by percentage of total English speakers who live in this country.

Interesting post! This data describes who we are interacting with on the internet, since internet communities are still segregated by language.
