      People make excuses for the democratic decline in El Salvador because fewer gangs but North Korea also doesn’t have a gang problem. What makes a good statesman is fixing issues without removing term limits or harassing and intimidating journalists.

      Always interesting to see this “do the ends justify the means scenarios.” One of the issues is that giving up due process and constitutional democracy, even for reasons of safety and security, can backfire it the long term if the authoritarian government loses its sense of competency or restraint. El Salvador may soon discover this

      I’m Intelligent enough to know that by you using “ for the most part “phrase completely negates anything you try to claim as fact. The facts are if you are convicted of a felony depending on which state you are convicted in, you will lose rights, even when you are finished with your sentence.
