I know this is likely more self-serving than it appears on the surface, but Hochul’s kinda been on a W streak of late… especially compared to other New York democrats (looking at you Jeffries and Schumer).

It has been too slow, but still good. Cause still good amount of dems that won’t even do it.

I have a pretty low bar already so I would be happy with this

A win’s a win, but I have to point out a giant pet peeve. Why do democrats always have to start their endorsement with a negative? „We had our disagreements“ adds nothing to the endorsement and just makes it look like the most tepid and lukewarm of endorsements. This is not unique to Hochul, almost everyone I know when talking about a candidate has to say something like, „Well, he wasn’t my first choice…“

Can we just give ourselves permission to like our candidates, without having to soften our endorsements before we do so? No wonder the politically disengaged vote republican so often. They see „Wow, the republicans say this guy is what would have happened if George Washington and Abraham Lincoln had a child together, meanwhile the Democrats are all bitching about ‚Is this really the best we can do?'“ Lot easier to get on the excitement wagon than the, „Well, I guess he’s better than nothing…“ wagon.

One in the leadership role stepping up; not quite like Bernie and AOC, but still. Schumer and Jeffries should pay attention and come to support him openly along with others with a degree of influence.

    5. Good. Now they can collaborate and make some of campaign initiatives into reality

Took her long enough. I mean he’s going up against the disgraced former governor she succeeded. It’s hard not to want to feel indignant for how nonsensical it was to take this long but this is ultimately a fucking win. LETS GO

    7. Cool, maybe the rest of the old guard will come around and realize that trying to appeal to republican lights hasn’t been a winning strategy.

More than Mamdani did when he couldn’t even offer an endorsement of Kamala over Donald fucking Trump last year

If the DNC centrist establishment gives two shits about actually stopping MAGA they’ll need to get their heads out of their asses, understand that the progressive wing of their party isn’t going anywhere, and stop demonizing them. Good for Hochul or understanding this basic piece of common sense.
