If you check out why they are , a lot of them it’s due to paranoia. CIA following etc . Ireland won’t grant them asylum as it should cause a diplomatic headache.
Edit – lot of trans people and academics fleeing the American autocracy too. Thanks for the heads up folks

We had a family from the states move into our area, one of the kids was in my sons school. They lasted less than 6 months, i met the Dad through work once for a few minutes – poor man was so naive – he was so excited to be in the land of his ancestors and Irish people were so friendly etc when i asked him about work he mentioned applying for visas and it was taking time, rent was expensive, he didn’t realise how far from a city he would have to live to be able to afford anywhere nice. Living in the middle of nowhere meant they were having trouble making friends. He seemed like he was a nice guy but who had done very little research, they never came back to school after Xmas and apparently went back to the states.

They’ll have to stay and stand up to their fascist government and that’s the right thing to do. Maybe earn the title of ‚land of the brave‘.
