Tja vast majority of flags are EU-flags. At least they are being waved the most.

I don’t think the EU flag is waved just because we want to rejoin and wish to our bones we had never left.

I think it’s because unlike other flags, which determine and symbolise exclusivity, the EU flag represents inclusivity. As long as you share these beliefs let’s join together. This melody may be drowned out by the rhythm of the jack boot, but it still plays and most people hear it.

Having re-read my original post, maybe I should give some context:

The Last Night of the Proms is traditionally a celebration of British music, with flags and singing and less formality that more serious concerts which have gone before.

I value the EU and think Brexit was a big mistake. So to see this very British institution take the flag-waving craze and do something positive with it (imo) feels like a bit of good news in a sea of depredation.
