    1. Struggling? The guy is given softballs and instead chooses to talk about himself like when he talks about his ballroom project.

    2. hey-coffee-eyes on

I’m sure it’s very hard for him that everybody is talking about somebody other than Trump for this long.

They’re trying to repeat what the Nazi’s did with Horst Wessel – [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horst_Wessel](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horst_Wessel)

Even as Wessel was lying seriously wounded in hospital, Goebbels was already releasing reports asserting that those who had carried out the attack were „degenerate communist subhumans“.

I don’t understand this. His messaging was very clear. That right-wing extremism is not a problem, that he does not seek unity and that he seeks to smash the left. He said it multiple ways multiple times. He was quite clear. And this is in line with everything else he has been saying and doing. What confusion?

    5. Of course. He is incapable of saying „Political violence is bad.“ It’s kind of his schtick, afterall.

    6. Adventurous_Test_296 on

People with a heart for others don’t struggle with „messaging“. This is a struggle with imaging. Trump and his sycophants have a serious issue with that.

    7. Of course he does. Its a white kid from the maga cult family. it takes time to build a lie around this that the cult will believe and get fired up over. Remember the Epstien files. Kirk could have been a martyr for that – think about it.

    8. Maximum_Tea_5934 on

I think Trump’s message about Charlie Kirk is perfectly clear. The White House is getting a new ballroom, right?

    9. ShamelessCatDude on

He’s struggling to act like a president is expected to.

      And this is news how?

    10. Struggling? He made it clear he’d rather talk about the ballroom. He isn’t struggling. He simply doesn’t give a fuck about Kirk. Trump wants people to talk about him. He only says he liked Kirk because Kirk loved him. Trump always describes people in terms of how much they support him.

It’s beyond disgusting that they were frothing at the mouth to wage “war” on Democrats following the shooting and are now visibly disappointed it’s seemingly another case of right on right crime.

    12. RoosterMedical on

Trump is struggling with being put into the position of being expected to give a shit about another human being.

    13. Can’t offend white nationalist Nick Fuentes and the Groyper army. Look what they did to Charlie.

    14. Exciting-Wish-7415 on

It’s because MAGA people cant comprehend that a subsection of their movement is so far-right they would kill their own.

    15. He isn’t struggling. He wants people to focus on the work he is doing on the White House patio.

    16. Well, you know, Kirk was a white nationalist extremist and pointing everyone to his words isn’t flattering. And telling everyone that Kirk was a Free Speech Super Debater while telling everyone to shut up about him for fear of threats or losing your job isn’t a great look either.

    17. So was this Charlie dude in The Epstein Files?

If you’d release them, we could verify.

    18. TarnishedAccount on

      He’s a dipshit.

Easiest opportunity ever to unite the country and he went in the other direction.

    19. TheGOPisTheDeepState on

Trump isn’t struggling, it’s just another cog peddling the movement so he profits. Next person up, time to move on. Kirk had a good run swindling idiots for the grift.

    20. RedLanternScythe on

After a day, Trump was probably getting annoyed Kirk was still dominating the news cycle. There is only so long that Trump can stand the news not being about him.

    21. mrbigglessworth on

He’s not struggling with anything. He’s just mad that the truth will not bend to his will and trying to blame this on all Democrats.

    22. AcanthisittaNo6653 on

The shooter grew up in a republican household and contributed to one of trump’s campaigns. What could cause someone to break with MAGA? Perhaps it was the J6 insurrection, the J6 pardons, the genocide in Gaza, the Epstein files, the break with NATO and Ukraine, the reversal on clean energy, trump’s supplication to Putin, the election promises he made and didn’t deliver on, etc. MAGA has several factions that don’t all agree or speak with one voice.

    23. National_Big_9508 on

Right, right…. because he never should have had any messaging associated with a random fucking podcaster dying in 4chan meme beef that 95%+ of the country needs an infographic to understand the kind of permanently online mental illness we’re dealing with?

But it seemed really convenient at the time because maybe they could get the public to forget that President Donald J. Trump is a rapist pedophile who traffics children along with, well, we don’t know how many others until they release… right. The Epstein Files.

Right, yes, of course he’s struggling. He “moves on them like a bitch” and bankrupts casinos. The guy has absolutely zero finesse. Release the files.

    24. Because he has no empathy. The emotional content of Kirk’s death doesn’t resonate at all.

From a strategic standpoint, Trump could milk this as a distraction from the Epstein files, but he doesn’t even have the presence of mind to do that.

    25. purplebrown_updown on

How is there no coverage for Trump’s stroke? His entire face was slumping over which is clearly indicative of a stroke. WTF the media really sucks.

    26. Ill-Cook-6879 on

Aging narcissists start to lose their grip over their facade as they start to lose their faculties. He’s struggling with messaging because he’s struggling with cognition.  The most important thing to Trump is Trump and he’s not taking opportunities to message about Trump that he once would have. Going straight from being asked about Charlie to talking about the ballroom without some sort of appropriate emotional segue which would have been sooo easy to create? He’s fucking losing his control over how he wants people to perceive him.

Like seriously how hard would it have been to connect Charlie to the ballroom with five seconds of platitudes about how brilliant and sparkling young MAGA are and how Trump is going to have a heavy heart when the ballroom is opened and Charlie can’t be there?

You’re going to see some shit before his people decide to remove him or he dies of something.  If he had the slightest sense he would remove himself from public view at all costs.

Stick a fork in him he’s done.

    27. boogahbear74 on

Nah, he just doesn’t give a shit. I mean he was asked and he had about a four word response then went on and on about construction of the ballroom. Hardly a moment of care.

    28. There is no doubt in my mind that Trump is already jealous and resentful of how much attention Charlie Kirk is getting
