Not that it changes the result but I don’t think the list of countries is complete, Sweden had a school shooting last year but isn’t on the list
If you are sourcing this from the English Wikipedia, I imagine there could be some bias towards English-speaking countries.

China isn’t even that much of an outlier without the U.S. since the population is much higher.

The post says killing attempts, but the figure says shooting attempts. Is this about firearms specific violence?
Oddly, as an American, the only school shooting I’ve been present for was the ONE in Australia. 2002 Monash University.
Within the next week, the Australian Parliament strengthened gun laws.
I don’t often comment here, but this is a terrible chart. This is a list of meaningless numbers that you’re just throwing out without context or explanation to try to prove a point. If you want to make an argument, then you need to do better than this. This is fodder for gun-rights advocates to show how little the opposition knows, and how gun-control advocates are arguing from a point of ignorance and bad faith.
Is this „school and university killing or attempted killing incidents“ or is this „number of shootings“? What „info from Wikipedia“ are you using? What counts as an attempted killing or a shooting? Mexico has a murder rate four times higher than the US. I don’t believe for one second that all of Mexico has had only 17 shootings or attempted killings at universities or schools, if the United States has had 574. Even leaving out adjusting for the US population size compared to other countries, there’s no way this data is comparing apples to apples.

We are going to be like this for awhile. The U.S. has been a violent country from the start. The last decade or so is the first time ever that we don’t really have a foreign or internal enemy to wage a war against, and also probably never again in terms of invading other countries.
A lot of people built their pride and identity on the U.S. being the greatest, the world hero, the strong one, the „winner.“ Without that, a lot of people have to face their boring miserable lives.

You should show all the EU countries as one (i guess as EU) . Would still probably be wayyy less but would make more sense to present it that way.
It’s the same discrepancy as the graph with serial killers per country.
Solution: just normalize the graph nor per country, not per capity but per gun – to say shootings/gun

The only way to solve the gun violence issue in the US is with a time machine. But until then, let’s do nothing about it.
Wild to realize that Canada’s per capita rate for this statistic is over half of that of the US. Apparently gun laws can only do so much.
Thailand not being up there is odd. There were multiple school shooting in thailand since 2000… many of which don’t get much coverage even in local media.
