      Even down to controlling the way you enjoy free time. They just use „think of the children“ as an excuse to justify their bottomless hunger for power.

      And the greatest expression of power, to paraphrase 1984, is to make other people miserable just because you can. That’s why authoritarians always target entertainment and co-opt it for themselves, turning it into just another vector for state power and control.

      The fact that Texans cannot be trusted to watch cartoons is very hilarious, their government treats them like literal children. Then you get into how you can’t be negative about Charlie Kirk without the US Government monitoring your social media presence. Unmarked vans are picking people up off the streets.

      It seems like this title is misleading. And I’m in no way a fan of any Texas politician with the exception of Beto. It’s a law to ban media that depicts someone that looks like a child being portrayed in an obscene way. Basically it’s anti lolli. Which I am all for. That shit is weird and unhealthy

      They will be coming for games to. RFK jr was saying it’s games that cause violent mass shootings, and now the Kirk shooter had helldivers stuff on one of the bullets. The GOP is 100 percent gonna use this to crack down on all video games and most likely movies and shows to, not just anime.

      We are gonna have North Korean style censorship by next year.

      If you’re intent was to target AI why the hell is the language so broad in the bill? 99% of the characters in anime are 17 or their age is ambiguous. Also this bill doesn’t just affect anime and manga it affects all books. Say goodbye to the romance, teen, and LGBTQ sections of your book store.

      Edit: Does this affect streaming? Will Netflix leave the state like Pornhub?

      For those that don’t know, funimation is located in Texas and many local Texas actors get consistent work in anime dubbing on shows like One Piece, Space Dandy, Fire Force, etc.

      Sorry, but even if it is anime anything showing underage characters engaging in sexual activities should be against the law like it is in most countries in Europe.
