I’m not really sure how it works, but wouldn’t they need to know who it is first in order to track it? There were most likely hundreds of cellphones in the area at the time. If someone knows more I’d like to understand how they’d track a random phone without knowing the owner.
I mentioned this in another thread – there is no way a shooter would keep a cell on them even if they turned it off. Modern cell phones have cell tower tracking 100% of the time – any slightly trained “assassin” would know better
There were probably 20k cell phones in that immediate area at the time. Singling out one phone in all that in less than 24hrs would be next to impossible unless they knew exactly which phone to look for..
