Seems like PVZ has a bad reputation:

Go talk to a lawyer. If you don’t have money, you can apply for a “Beratungshilfeschein” (legal aid voucher) at your local district court (Amtsgericht).

With this voucher, you can see a lawyer and only pay a small contribution (currently 15 €).

      Good luck to you!

    2. Mh Problem is, that since this is already a message from an Inkasso-Company (debt collection) there has to be an invoice from PVZ that is dated much earlier. PVZ are frustrating spammers who trick people into subscriptions. As the first invoice arrived I would say we’re good chances to send a letter with a complaint but it seems to late for me now.

What was the exact text you sent them by mail earlier?

Polizei doesn’t help you there, they don’t handle stuff like contracts. This would be a civil court case between you and them.

To answer your question, PVZ is known for this stuff see https://www.verbraucherzentrale.de/wissen/vertraege-reklamation/abzocke/vorsicht-bei-rechnungen-der-pvz-fuer-zeitschriftenabos-84112 for details, they also list your options (in German)

Your uni / studentenwerk may also have free legal advice / support.

Yes, PVZ is a known scammer. They pretend to be free at first. Don’t trust if somebody pretends to gift you something for free. The Verbraucherzentrale at your city might help you.

    5. From what i can see you missed the 14 Day Period you have the legitimate right to cancel Contracts you made online or by phone (i.E.).

Many Companys are scummy and trying to trick you into subscriptions by giving you a 30 day „Free Trial“ which is in reality just a contract where the payment starts at the beginning of the second month.

The Email looks like to come from an debt collector office which is active and known in Germany. If the underlying claims are legit, you are better off paying the money asap or at least ask for a deferment of payment, this can give you a little bit time.

Ignoring this can get you in big trouble regarding your credit score (Schufa).

Police will not help you with this.

Hi! So the first you need to do is to contest these email. You need to make sure that you have a valid contract with them (maybe in that free trial you only put your Information, but you never received a contract to sing) so you need to send them an email and a brief contesting these. Like you ask them “please present me with a valid contract with my signature on it” or stuff like that. ChatGPT can help you with these stuff. And really you need to do it as soon as possible, like tomorrow and not later. Send them an email and like a said a brief per Einschreiben. At the same time you can go to the “Verbraucher Zentrale” and make an appointment as soon as possible. They can help with these kind of stuff in a legal way. It cost 20€ and you present them with the things you already send them. Don’t interact with them more than you need. And always try to have everything on paper. If they never present a valid contract, then you don’t have to pay. When that happens you can even go to the police and make an “Anzeige” against them because they are charging for stuff you never really agreed on. Oh and you need to send all of these to the Inkasso company.

And last thing… don’t click on anything that says free trial or stuff like that. Never ever! Good luck!
