      As someone who has been suicidal, I don’t see anything wrong with what the school did.

      Say I’m a normal teenager and a classmate dies. (No information about what led to her suicide is in the article)

      Option 1: Hear that she killed herself. I would get super depressed and think about it constantly. Research about suicide and everything like that. There would probably be a lot of weird rumors around school about why she did it.

      Option 2: Hear that she got into a traffic accident. I would feel bad for her and it would be a teaching moment. Always be super careful about driving and paying attention to other drivers and stuff. That seems like a better use of her memory than just a bunch of kids feeling sad, regretful, and confused about something they literally had no control over??
