Our municipality and surrounding township are just getting on board with installing these now. Some people have got 20 plus tickets in the span of a month, they are a total cash grab because they don’t do anything for safety.
On this…he’s crazy. Why would you stop any local what he calls “money grabs” by the city if they are short funds? Is he saying he’ll make up the shortfall at the principal level? Or that everyone should just get higher property taxes instead instead of law breakers paying more and innocent tax payers paying less
One week the guy says “you can’t break the law by breaking into someone’s house without accepting whatever injury comes your way”.
And the next week the guy says “ you can break the law by speeding and the city shouldn’t be allowed to penalize you”.
Totally inconsistent BS Trump type “whatever the city says, I’m Going to say the opposite, just to be a jerk”. And geez….im a right leaning guy!
How is it a cash grab? Speeding is illegal. We can either pay an officer to monitor the intersection, which is not only expensive but largely ineffective since they are just one person (and can only deal with one vehicle at a time). Traffic cameras are cheap.
No cash to grab if you don’t break the law.
I wouldn’t care about automated speed cameras or red light cameras if it meant freeing up the police to be more available to the public.
Instead they are still never visible in the community and if I want to find a cop I can usually find one farting around at a construction site.
