      Yes, if you declare an intention to be a visitor but travel with enough stuff to make it look like you may be staying longer illegally and can’t adequately satisfy the foreign government that you will abide by the terms of your visa / visa exemption / visa waiver, they will turn you away. That’s true for the US. It’s true for Australia. It’s true for Canada. It’s true for the UK. It’s true for Japan, Thailand, Chile, and Kenya. Sovereignty means selecting who gets to come inside and who doesn’t. If you want to come in, play by the rules and be nice and forthcoming. Why is this a story other than „orange man bad“?
