This should serve as another piece of evidence that the world is unfortunately not moving away from the US. They are all addicted to the money generated by the US economy, and despite all of their tough talk, don’t actually intend to give that up. They’re spineless and pathetic, and through those “virtues” help ensure that nothing actually changes.

What’s the old saying; fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me?

I don’t understand why people don’t think the south Koreans will stick with the US. their opposition party is even more pro US. what other choices do they have?

Bet they would have had a different tune if they got sent to the Gulag too.

    5. This whole episode shows the flaw in the populist MAGA ideology.

If we were actually intent on rehoming American manufacturing as Trump’s rhetoric would claim, you are without a question going to have foreign nationals who know the nuts and bolts of the various industries that we outsourced.

You need those people to be here to train a new generation of Americans on how to do those jobs, and slowly over time the knowledge base would be rebuilt.

The Trump administration crack down on immigration, is going to harm their alleged goal of bringing back manufacturing.

This harsh stance on immigration has already harmed our international reputation worse than it was, it has harmed well established alliances, and it has hurt countless business owners as well as every day people.

Politics of resentment gets you shitty results every single time

seeing shit like this makes me so glad Modi stood up to him.

He’ll probably target Indian workers soon too, I hope that Modi doesn’t budge even a single inch and gives a fitting but controlled reply

    7. Sounds like Hyundai (or maybe other companies)has been testing this visa thing for a while now. Trump admin decided to crack down it.

If they had proper visa it doesn’t look like it would have happened ( still not sure on all the facts).

Those Korean employees are not illegal but still they got arrested, treated roughly instead of as valued worker and kicked out.

Would I want to come back? I don’t think so.

What would happen if S Korea started deporting US citizens? How would The Orange handle it?

    10. My mate was one one of these skilled visa, in yankee land years ago.

He was paid a bonza to train ‚union staff’…. they did fk all and ‚went to lunch‘

He ended up breaching his visa and doing half the work because they wouldn’t, it was that or the entire project 10’smillions comes to a standstill

Management knew what was up, and understood, it was a quiet, what can you do,,,
