SS – A former Biden era Latin America advisor, Juan González, has cautioned that the US risks being drawn into a “disastrous” military intervention in Venezuela after a US strike on 2 September, carried out via attack helicopter or drone, killed 11 alleged drug traffickers aboard a Venezuelan boat, part of a broader US naval buildup in the Caribbean aimed at combating narco terrorism. González labeled the move political theater, warning that hardline Venezuelan opposition forces and Washington hawks such as Senator Marco Rubio may be pushing the US toward confrontation, and that the country’s complex mix of paramilitaries, criminal networks, and regional insurgents could spark a protracted guerrilla style war, far more hazardous than past US interventions such as Panama in 1989.

I do agree with this part. Not to mention that there are countries in the region and the broader world that do support Maduro’s regime (Cuba, Venezuela, China, Russia, etc). I think that if Trump were to directly attack Venezuela you’d see much of the ‚developing world‘ side with Venezuela.
