I literally just, finally, got approved for Disability, but because of the situation I’m on the weird version that relies on SSI instead of SSDI. That, and his stupid work requirements overhaul has now put me in a spot where I’m fearful I’ll lose SNAP, despite being disabled, because for some reason *I* have to provide evidence of it.
This guy fucking sucks beyond all suckitude ever imagined.

That was always the plan. Republicans have been trying for decades to figure out how to get that money to stop flowing into social entitlements so more of it can stay safely in the pockets of the wealthy.

It was already broken. Yes disabled people and such make up a large portion of people who get social Security Benefits but the biggest drain on it are the boomers. The older than boomers are as well but their generation is nowhere near as large as the boomers. Plus that generation went through WWII so leave them alone….
For millennials and gen x, we’ve been paying quite the sizable amount into since starting to work in the job force and we won’t see a single cent because it’s projected to be insolvent in ten years. Rather than fixing it or trying to figure out how they can pay the help that they’ve gotten forward, the boomers are saying “claim it as soon as you can before it’s gone”…..
I am retired and depend on Social Security to live. If the GOP quit throwing $s away on ICE etc., the money for SS would be safe.

I would gladly opt out of SS… I’m willing to pay 1/2 of what currently pay I and never will „retire“ on SS.. I want invest the other 1/2 in investments of my choice not under govt control….
SS has been changed so much. It no longer is doing what it was created for…
Privatize that shit already, and let the boomers figure out what to do, maybe they will start selling their houses. I hate contributing into something I know I’ll never get.
