His press secretary said its not the legitimate government. They are doing it in the open, in public, like with everything else they do, and people still play games with them

America not interested in toppling a south american regime? And they have oil to boot?

I kinda don’t believe him. Sounds like a „best of foreign politics“ from the last 70 years.

Must have gotten his marching orders from Putin to leave his friend alone.

    5. So then we’ll be invading Venezuela shortly.

And it won’t be any kid glove invasion like Afghanistan and Iraq, where we at least pretended to stick to the Geneva Conventions. It will be a genocidal campaign similar to the one Israel has against the Palestinians. They’ll even use the same justification („protecting America“).

But this isn’t about protecting America. It isn’t about drugs either. It’s about oil.

Trump’s administration wouldn’t know the first thing about how to change regimes in a foreign country, they only know how to illegally do it here.

I’m not sure anyone cares what he says at this point. Even his cultists will tell you half the things he says he just says to get a reaction, and that’s them being generous. Known liars can only be judged on their actions.

    8. Dear rest of the world. Just ignore the Cheeto he will be gone in a couple years. Sincerest apologies; America.

Trump denies a lot of things.

Anyone get a copy of those Epstein files yet?

    10. why? It is not like Maduro is the legitimate elected leader of the country anyway.

Question: Why ***wouldn’t*** the US want regime change in Venezuela?!

Most of you Redditors elsewhere in the world have no idea that Maduro has been threatening Guyana’s independence & newly found 11 *billion* barrels of oil in their essequibo region….the worlds largest oil reserve. They’ve even allegedly sent military vessels (according to Guyana president) as recently as March this year.

^ Not only is Venezuela’s shenanigans with Guyana a violation of international law being ignored wholesale right now by the world, but the real reason Maduro has been doing these „shows of force“ is to try and distract the world from what they’re really after + hopefully garner some allies (BRICS) before the US steps in.

So how many days til the „peace“ president sends troops into Venezuela. Or is he attacking democrat cities first?

    13. Wait, he has a point. /s

I mean if you wage a war, it might just stop regieme change, just like what happened in Ukraine.

    14. That would be a serious change in policy for the first time since Chavez became president, right? Seems unlikely.

A US President seeking regime change in a South American country.

How’s the weather report looking lately?

Which means Trump has confirmed they are seeking a regime change in Venezuela.
