Premierminister Shigeru Ishiba kündigt seinen Rücktritt auf einer Pressekonferenz an und wird bei den nächsten LDP -Präsidentschaftswahlen nicht laufen

There were some talks that if Ishiba ran for re-election, he might win but after all these clinging to power, his chances of winning has become very slim. So much for polls results that showed people still like Ishiba to stay in power. Good thing that he realized it and announced he’s not going to re-run in the next re-election.
