It’s a masterclass in how to lose an election by first alienating your base to appeal to people who will never vote for you. Labour is so terrified of the fringe, they’re sawing off the main part of the electorate to join it.
If it’s not done using primary legislation and if they don’t use primary legislation to spell out that the right of the country to deport migrants outweighs their rights to be here, then they’re wasting their time because the courts will just nullify whatever the government comes up with and block deportations.

If true, this is very short-sighted. The current popularity of Reform is as much to do with the Tories imploding as it has to do with Farage’s frothing over *legal* asylum seekers. Over 75% of the population would not vote for Farage or Reform.
This scenario would on the other hand deprive 100% of the UK population of basic rights.
Why not just save us the next 4 years and give Farage the keys now, since you’re so determined to pander to him *and* lose the next election?
Get him in power now, so he can show the morons of this country why he should never be trusted and just how far the shitshow can go, we can get the economic collapse and fascist era out of the way while Trump and Putin are still around to be our friends through the Farage era (question here; is it better to have those two friends, or no friends at all?), then we can finally (hopefully) cure the public of their obsession with him and go back to being a sensible country.
