Regulating the amount of leverage that retail investors can take on CFD products is a no-brainer.
I am not sure this will cause anyone losing their job – unless there are people specifically recruited to scam clients into leveraging more than they should.
This area has been a bit of a Wild West, and it is a good thing we are finally starting to clean up the mess.
Not really, these rules affect only clients assigned in the Cyprus entities (EU clients usually). Most companies have different entities on exotic countries to give crazy amount of leverage.
Do you have any idea how many licenses there are ?
Most brokers main client-base isnt even in Europe. Cysec can cry all they want.
