      Bought and sold by the right. More and more journalist are going to be stepping away. I can’t imagine what this is doing to their mental health.

      Most of the traditional media outlets are now owned by corporations,or billionaires, that are more concerned about profits than reporting the news. They don’t want to report or print something about Trump that brings on a lawsuit. CBS, and a few other outlets, recently settled for obscenely large amounts of money, and that’s not good for business.

      Because like all world leaders, all tech giants and all countries they are just waiting out the clock. He will be gone within a year or two and everyone is just humouring him so he doesn’t do more damage than he does already

      The big media outlets no matter which side love trump. They may not love who he is or the things he does, but they love that he puts asses in seats. People on the left tune in to keep up with the latest horrible things he does because they hate him and people on the right tune in to keep up with the latest horrible things he does because they love it.

      It’s mind-boggling. It’s not just his health they’re ignoring, it’s his insane policies as well. Biden never got a pass on anything. Trump gets a pass on everything. I guess the oligarchy controls most of the media now.

      Because he will sue them, remove their reporters from his press pool, or threaten to take away their broadcasting license, or fine them in some way.

      The media has ignored or ran defense for a lot of Trump’s shit because the media only cares about profit and viewership. It’s why Joe Scarborough and his wife went to Mar-a-largo to kiss his ring after calling him a fascist and a monster months before he won the election.

      Whether you hate or love him, Trump is a cash cow for MSM because he brings clicks and views but he is big business friendly with take breaks and hostile against unions

      Journalism is dead.

      Modern mainstream media already did a lousy job by either legitimizing him or ignoring the major issues, but it’s gotten infinitely worse since he started intimidating various news organizations.

      I am NOT a Trump fan. But I think they’re giving last weekend’s story a pass because the only news in it was how viral the conspiracy theories went. They can’t follow up on every one of those. There was “evidence of life,” but it was more fun to speculate, I guess.

      As I said I am NOT a Trump fan. I am also not defending the media, which also gave a pass to President Biden’s health, especially when and after it was announced he’d run for reelection. I don’t think Trump could have won in 2024 if the Democrats had had primaries and an actual full-length campaign. VP Harris *almost* did it anyway (and yes, some people think she actually did). Imagine if she or another D had a full campaign and a full slate of debates in 2024.

      Much of the media is also ignoring millions of Americans across the country mass gathering to protest. They’ll flash a blurb, then move onto some other bullshit commentary, while videos and photographs go viral on social media.

      The Fourth Estate is dead in this country. Cronkite is dead. Murrow is dead. We can thank that piece of shit Reagan for getting rid of the Fairness Doctrine, too. That was the capstone.
