Greetings and salutations, years ago my mother worked as a flegerine(a person that takes care of the elderly) in Austria for some time and has had to quit for personal reasons. Nowadays for a while we have started receiving letters from an Austrian bank but we have no ideea what it means, is there anyone here with experience in banks that can help us out?
According to the account statement regarding the SVS contributions, there are over 1000 euros in the account. How can one access this money, the letter only says: „Über die Verwendung ihres Guthabens sollen Sie selbst entscheiden.

hi, this is not a letter from a bank but from a social security provider (health & pension insurance). apparently she has paid in more than what was due, so she can claim the ~1500eur and have them transferred back to her.
what it is also indicating (because the letter is from SVS insurance) is that she was not employed in a job where everything about insurance was handled by the employer, but worked as a self-employed nurse. when she continues to receive letters this would indicate to me that she has not fully deregistered her work in austria yet…
This is not a bank letter. You received this from SVS (austrian health insurance for self-employed people) and means you paid too much. You can transfer the money to any bank account. Go to the link on the letter, log in to your account, and walk through the process. It should be straightforward.
If you can’t log in or have already created an account, send an email to the contact information on the letter with this information. They will guide you to authorize the bank transfer.
