I think he believes in keeping enemies closer than friends in that case

The only reason he said that is he thinks Modi is Colonel Sanders.

trump is definitely sundowning. putin already has to remind him of the picture he showed trump in Alaska.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he genuinely thought they were such good friends modi would just say he negotiated a ceasefire with Pakistan and expected modi to nominate him for a Nobel. he seems incapable of separating work/diplomacy to interpersonal relationships.

“Always” being the rest of Trumps life? This will be over by May…

    6. It’s actually incredible how he manages to make himself look even more stupid and delusional so frequently.

Canada, Europe, Australia, UK, New Zealand, Taiwan, Japan, SOuth korea: Bro you said the same thing

USA (Stares at RUssia, North Korea, China) –> You 3 are my besties, rest are friends from facebook

    8. All of this is not without substance.

Modi at one point of time sort of ‘campaigned’ for Trump , drawing ire from the democratic circles.

They cooperated really well in his first term.

All of these issues are reversible. But India will now be wary of US and won’t put all of its eggs in this basket.

Maybe friends with Modi, maybe not. Relations with India, however, are not going to be the same. Any party that comes into power for the next few years in India will lose face if they show any signs of friendship with the US as they will be blamed for surrendering.

Clown show TV President. Hey, millions of Americans voted for this clown show. Let it play out to demonstrate democracy.

I am beginning to see Socrates’ appeal that only those who’re trained in military, politics, diplomacy, law and administration right from their youth, should be allowed to stand for political elections or be allowed to vote in such elections.

Joe Biden might have been the modern day American version of Don Quixote or Mad King Lear, but even in abject senility there were things he wouldn’t do which are completely imbibed into his decision making muscle memory. Things such as “publicly chiding leaders of less powerful countries”, who’ll stand to lose face if they then succumb to pressure, rather than the more diplomatic ruse of “privately chiding while publicly bestowing dignity upon them”.

    12. Flip! Flop! Flip! Flop! There he goes again, parroting the last person he talked to who sounded like they knew what they were doing. Because he barely has a clue and is deathly afraid his cult will find out.

    13. If someone hates you and you say, they will always be your friend doesn’t that make you a motherfucking idiot?

Meanwhile most of India, including the Indian nationalists who shared Trump’s values, hates his guts now.

Modi can’t do anything to upset them, despite Trump thinking he can overcome that with the pOwEr oF fRiEnDsHiP.

Trump will end up on his deathbed with no friends.

In US political discourse we were always told that India isn’t a big deal for USA and they’re hardly discussed. That, more powerful countries such as Russia, China or the economic superpowers such as EU, Japan, South Korea or the geopolitically important countries such as Pakistan, Taiwan (also tech giant) were always more important to US political think tank.

But you’d only realise the value of a friend once you shoo him off and he goes to join the opponents. The importance of “India as a responsible friend, who wouldn’t support you full fledged, but at the same time will make matured decisions in global geopolitics” is being felt very starkly at present, for the first time in the history of US geopolitical discourse.

But I feel that once Trump is out and the next US President comes in, there will be advances made for a much more solid and a more permanent US-India relationship. The only thing that matters now is that Trump doesn’t further destroy the precariously placed relationship with India which is literally now the cat on a wall, standing on one leg, with huge gusts of winds blowing about making the poor creature lean towards the opponent’s fence.

    16. He thinks *this statement* out of all things is an olive branch to a country that has previously been sanctioned by the US (1999-2000 by Clinton), threatened (Nixon 1971, the US literally sent nuclear submarines into India’s waters), protected enemies while they committed a genocide of millions in Bangladesh, armed against (loads of weapons including F16s given to Pakistan), but still India has tried to move towards the US in the last few years, knowing well India cannot move fully towards the US because India is not energy sufficient, depends on Russian weapons (the S400 literally stopped hundreds of people dying in May 2025 by stopping Pakistani airborne weapons from entering India) and is a country that cannot lean either way in the globe because of a domestic electorate of 1,400 million people who do not want India to lean either way. India has domestic consumption of 60%, the vast majority of the population also dependent on the government for many things – Modi knows these things and is seemingly ok with India growing slower for a couple of years while the Americans decide if they want another old clown as their leader.

    17. This whole Tariff spat with India over Russian oil is just cover for Russia to consolidate its historical alliances in Asia. India has been providing support for Russias war outside of Oil purchases.

      Krasnov doing Krasnov things.

    18. Life-is-beautiful- on

And here is the bonus 25% tariff increase to cement our friendship.

    19. Oh god. Why is world politics between nations read like a highschool drama nowadays?

    20. There’s no problem with cognitive dissonance if you don’t sweat cognition.

    21. Five stages of grief :
      denial
      anger
      bargaining
      depression
acceptance <<- TRUMP is now here.

    22. StuckinReverse89 on

Seeing how the US treats its “allies” like Europe and its “enemies” like North Korea and Russia, better to be an “enemy” than an “ally.”

    23. Trump will always be friends with modi but are the feelings mutual? Who wants to be friends with someone who wants to keep stabbing you in the back? Trump foreign policy is a fucking joke.

    24. xenocideMadridKKR-07 on

Trump plays a good cop now

While his rabid dogs like lutnick and Navarro spew some shit against India ..not to forget the idiots like Kirk and Loomer lol
