Good news but probably not enough to stimulate the economy.
But also, this only really lifts hourly workers, right? (Of which there are many in the country and they absolutely deserve fairer pay)
But all the scores of office admins in the country making brutally low, effectively minimum salaries probably wont get a raises to compensate.
Probably a factor contributing to why this won’t move the needle economically all that much.
What I want to know is what the wage gap is between those on the low end postions are compared to the people running companies.
I literally never see anything about Japanese ceos or executives, and at this point I’m almost convinced they are making absolutely insane amounts of money because even some retail workers in the US make better pay them some office workers in Japan.
And like, I’m sure they blame foreigners and all that, but a part of me wonders if societial pressure has played a part in convincing people to accept lower wages while their bosses make absurd millions.

Where is all of the money going? Prices are rising globally. Is it just large corporations making record profit?
