This isn’t patriotism, it’s intimidation and vandalism. Most likely harassment too directed at whoever lives in the house.

This is bloody horrendous.

There are flags on the lampposts on our street and that’s all very pretty, but this is getting into fucking Kristallnacht territory. I hope they throw the book at them. This isn’t Facebook posts or hurty words, this is terrorising innocent civilians in their own home.

I’m all for the <actual> flags, but this is straight up vandalism. And depending on who lives in the house / intent possibly more serious.

When it is borderline racism, the headlines say „arrested for displaying England flag“.

When it is undeniable, actual racism, it suddenly becomes „spraying a red cross“?

Kind of reminds me of people vandalizing Japanese people’s houses after Pearl harbor. There’s free speech, and then there’s being a racist fuck, and this solidly falls into the latter

Haven’t read the article yet, but I’m going to take a guess the homes sprayed where ones belonging either to people who aren’t white or people who have immigrated here.

This is the upshot of a conceited campaign by the political right and the newspapers to polarise British voters over the issue of immigration, by radicalising small town working class men against „illegal“ migrants and asylum seekers.

This actually has nothing to do with migration and everything to do with a natural and primal propensity toward mistrust of outsiders, which has been politically weaponised.

In the grand scheme of things, growing wealth inequality, geopolitics, and climate pressures are having a much more tangible effect on working people in the UK than small boat crossings or the backlog on asylum claims.

Nowadays the internet is riddled with misinformation about migrants, flashy GB news clips of their pundits talking complete bullshit, and made up affected emotional garbage set to heartfelt music, all of which is rammed down people’s throats on social media in order to engineer a consensus that our „values“ (answers on a postcard) are being threatened. If anyone read the sun (best selling daily paper) over the past couple of decades, their eyes would have been smeared with long-form excrement from people like rod liddle and his disreputable ilk, talking about „why don’t Hungary take more immigrants“ or whatever catchy bullshit they came up with that week.

This has well and truly distracted people as the concentration of wealth among the super rich has increased dramatically, which really ought to be the main thing people protest about whilst they can barely afford to live in a world of inflation.

The whole of Britain is responsible for this attack because in my view the majority of people have preferred to let the media and politicians tickle their hidden prejudices with their vitriol, rather than wake up and see the real enemy for what they are – a bunch of feather beaded fat bigwig arseholes profiteering from the demise of our nation.

When we become a glorified tax haven with no middle class and everyone living in relative poverty, we will only have ourselves to blame.
