Looks like they finally found a new way to sell gun control to conservatives. Remember the roots of the gun control movement started with Reagan and the NRA after the Black Panthers started open carrying.

They are going to attack it at the angle that all transgender people are mentally ill so therefore should not be able to get access to firearms. They use their latest false flag to effect this.
Funny, because exactly 3 years ago, the same thing happened to me. I went to see a doctor about minor depression, was following my medication regularly per doctor’s orders and they called in the police and the county mental health goon squad. I got evaluated for 2 hours involuntary and was released, but they took away my 2nd Amendment rights for FIVE YEARS.
Such is the overreach of the state.

Seems pretty obvious. If you want red flag laws (which I think are unconstitutional – but Democrats clamor for them) then transgendered people have to automatically go to the top of that list.
But this, I feel, is just a ploy to get the pro 2A side of the aisle onboard with the red flag law concept so that the other side can nebulously and irresponsibly just start flagging everything traditional, white, masculine, self reliant as a mental illness.

As much as I dislike that crowd of individuals, this is a slippery slope. What’s next? The new administration will determine that if you have “X” political belief or have certain opinions about the juice that you can’t have a gun either?
I do believe they are mentally ill but it is truly a slippery slope because bad faith actors can say you are mentally ill for believing in God or not believing in vaccines so therefore you can’t have a gun either.

I wonder what will be the next ‘mental disorder’ they will point to in order to take away from the next group? Porn addicts can be violent and lots of young men watch porn, so take away guns from under 25 year olds? That should be an easy sell.
Weird to not ban them from owning guns. If you’re not sure what body you belong in you shouldn’t be controlling firearms. We already have rules in place to bar the mentally unsound from owning guns.
Talk about alleviating the symptoms instead of curing the disease..
