Republican Representatives Thomas Massie and Marjorie Taylor Greene have said they would be willing to take advantage of a constitutional immunity rule to read the names of Jeffrey Epstein’s associates allegedly involved in abuse.

Newsweek contacted Massie and Greene for comment via emails sent outside regular business hours.

    2. Massie offered to do it.
Well, for me it feels he’s just a rat on a sinking ship and is trying to escape, but I still would take that over the victim beeing sued into oblivion.

And I wish I’m wrong on my feeling and the guy truly grew a conscience that isn’t money or politically backed.

EDIT: For the sake of completion, I’ll point that Massie asked for the Epstein files back when Biden was president and kept doing it since.

They should make that pay-per-view and we could solve the national debt at the same time.

    4. I doubt anyone in Congress would actually do it. Way too much risk for themselves and their careers.

Lots of things *could* happen. This shouldn’t be a headline until it does.

They won’t. Political theater. If they haven’t done it by now they never will. There are no „good guys“ in Congress or the senate.

Massie may be trying to save his own ass. But he saidbhe had 3 billionaires running attack ads non stop against him. And he said 1 of them is in Epsteins black book.

    8. The victims say they will name their perpertrators if congress continues to delay. I would think that is a more believable list.

Don’t get too excited about this.

They’re both loyalists. They probably want to get the redacted list known fast before the Trump rape victims share the real client list.

    10. hmmm I’ll be more interested when that ‚could‘ is changed to ‚to‘ otherwise this is just the same old noise.

    11. „COULD“ — it probably won’t be. This seems to be a threat to hopefully make something happen but I’m not too confident in it actually happening

    12. Then a Democrat needs to get a hold of that list and read it because you know the Republicans are going to censor whatever they read.

It’s ok. Epstein and The name I will not speak in the white house will be on the lips of all the survivors, and they will supply their own list of names.

Because they will never forget what was done to them.

    14. Someoneoverthere42 on

No, no it will not. More likely that list will disappear for “security reasons”

    15. We can all thank Trump for us being at a point where a traffickers name and a list of victims is being recited by Congress. Really odd time we’re in

    16. The list read with edits. Edits excluding Republicans. Let the congressman read the list paralleled with the victims reading the list on the house floor. Thus guaranteeing against selected edits.

So who exactly has the document? They should post it on the internet

„The Constitution will protect us!“ is not something that rational Americans are saying any longer.

    19. darth_whaler on

Sure. And how many times will they read the word „redacted“ out loud?

    20. Everyone doubting MTG but she’s been iced out of MAGA for a while now and is basically a cornered rat. Assigning this a non-zero chance at least.

    21. Objective_Bar_5420 on

There’s no „list“ per se, it’s a huge mass of unreleased material that took hundreds of lawyers over a month to review. The unredacted context needs to be included, so that we can tell if someone named was doing something nefarious or not.

I would bet money on seeing troops in the building if they tried it .

They could have resolved this years ago. Keyword is accountability. The United States citizens need to hold the representatives that we elect accountable for their actions. Won’t happen but it sounds good

Anyone thinks they’re trying to save their own image so they can have the chance of a political future after Trump dies?
