Joe Rogan has 4x the audience of FoxNews, MSNBC, and CNN combined. I totally believe it is true that people are manipulated by the media. However I think most people aren’t able to define media anymore.
This isn’t 1960. Everyone isn’t watching the same 3 networks. Traditional media’s influence is totally in the trash.

It seems people believe whatever they WANT to believe these days. Whatever aligns with their notions and trickles down to them through their social media feeds. Facts and nuance be damned.
The few still hanging on to traditional media and some independent media are in actuality believing what the media tells them to believe, which is actually what the government has told them to tell those viewers to believe.

„The media“ these days is YouTube and TikTok „influencers“ and „independent“ blogs and vlogs. People with unknown credentials and even more shady income streams. Depicting „the media“ as a television set is rather disingenuous. It’s vitally important that everyone does due diligence on their sources of information, whatever and whoever they are. And to make sure to independently verify the information they receive, ideally by going back to primary sources, or at the very least by comparing and contrasting with other sources of information. If you find yourself agreeing with a specific source of information too often, be incredibly wary.
